usurian takeover of humanity
After Earth had begun to rebuild itself after the Ravolox Incident, it needed help. The Usurian Company took over, relocating humanity first to Mars and later to Pluto, now powered by six artificial suns. The Company, however, began to realise that humanity was an unprofitable species, especially those on Pluto. They considered pulling out. With no one to refuel the suns, mankind would soon have perished. The Doctor fed an index-linked growth tax into the Usurian computer, bankrupting them. With the Usurians gone, the humans made preparations to return to a regenerated Earth.
