A lethal weapon, favoured by the Master, which reduced the mass of any object. Its effects were seen on a scientist at a radio telescope and he later used it on a Gallifreyan camera technician. He also used it on a policeman on Earth, along with Tegan Jovanka's aunt. He caused the destruction of Logopolis by killing some Logopolitans with it and the Doctor used it on Kamelion on the planet Sarn after the Master had temporarily shrunk himself with it. The Master murdered a guard and his dog with it in nineteenth century Earth, but the weapon was then disposed of by the Rani.
