time scoops
Devices by which objects or organisms can be lifted out of their own time streams and placed somewhere else. Rassilon created a time scoop for use with the Death Zone on Gallifrey before its abandonment. Borusa then reactivated it but on trying to obtain the fourth incarnation of the Doctor and Romana, the Time Scoop failed, leaving them caught in a time eddy. Professor Whitaker developed something similar with which he brought Dinosaurs forward to late twentieth century Earth. The method by which miniscopes captured their inhabitants worked along similar lines.
