invasion of the nestenes
The Nestenes have twice attempted an invasion of Earth. The first time, their primary control was through the facsimile, Channing. Channing activated the Autons, posing as waxworks and shop window dummies. They were defeated when the Doctor and Liz Shaw interrupted the radio signals that linked them, destroying the growing Nestene Consciousness. Their second attempt was led by the Master, using weapons made of plastic such as dolls, armchairs and daffodils. Ultimately, the Master and the Doctor teamed up to repel the Nestenes back into deep space as the Consciousness attempted a physical manifestation at a radio telescope.
