invasion of the ice warriors
Twice the Ice Warriors have attempted to dominate Earth. Realising that their home planet Mars, was dying, a group set out to colonise Earth but were frozen inside a glacier during prehistoric times. Thousands of years later they were unfrozen. However, the Doctor was able to use an ioniser to detonate the engines in their buried craft, destroying the Martians. They also attacked during the twenty-first century by sending seed pods from the moon to Earth that absorbed all the oxygen. The Doctor managed to divert their fleet into the orbit of the Sun, while defeating the handful of Martians stationed on the moon.
