interference by the osirians
A race of powerful aliens who spent their time in Earth's solar system on Mars and Earth. They helped the Ancient Egyptian civilisation to build pyramids and became recognised as Gods. Amongst the Osirians worshipped by the ancient Egyptians were Horus and his brother Sutekh, or Set, an Osirian of great evil. The Osirian ethical code meant they could not harm one another. However, in order to contain Sutekh's evil, Horus placed his brother inside the Black Pyramid in Egypt for eternity, alive but immobile. Only by destroying the Eye of Horus on Mars, contained within a pyramid and guarded by servicer robots, could Sutekh escape.
