The absolute ruler of the Eight-Legs who lived on Metebelis III. She sought immortality and complete control of the galaxy by boosting her mental powers to infinity via a crown of perfect blue crystals. The crystals were natural to the planet and were responsible for the original mutation of the Eight-Legs from their humble beginnings as ordinary Earth spiders brought on an Earth colony ship. The Great One demanded the Doctor return the final perfect Blue Crystal he gave to Jo Grant and Professor Jones as a wedding present. He did so, but the feedback fried her brain and blew her mountain top citadel apart, destroying all the Eight-Legs in the process.
