900 year diary

great intelligence

A bodiless entity whose origins remain a mystery and which roamed space and time trying to take control of worlds. Using a human host as its physical embodiment, the Intelligence first made its presence felt on Earth in the 1930s in Tibet, taking over the ancient Padmasambvha. The Intelligence was linked physically to Earth via a collection of silver balls arranged in a pyramid, similar to the silver spheres that animated the Intelligence's servants, the servicer robots disguised as Abominable Snowmen. Once the Intelligence realised that the Doctor had the ability to cross space and time, it sought control of the TARDIS. However, as the Doctor fought Padmasambvha on the physical plane, his companions destroyed the pyramid of silver spheres, setting the Great Intelligence adrift in space once again. About forty years later, it was drawn back to Earth, after attempting to take over the TARDIS in space. This time it occupied the body of an army sergeant and, briefly, that of its old human nemesis, Professor Travers. Again, the Doctor was able to thwart its plans and stop the Abominable Snowmen with the assistance of the army led by Colonel Lethbridge-Stewart. The Intelligence could not be completely destroyed, however, and remained capable of striking again.
