vraxoin
A highly addictive and illegal drug, much sought after throughout the galaxy. The zoologist, Tryst, was in league with the smuggler Dymond and they used the CET machine to smuggle segments of the planet Eden aboard the passenger liner Empress. The creatures that lived on Eden, the savage Mandrels, when killed and molecularly broken down formed pure Vraxoin. Whilst emerging from hyperspace above the planet Azure, the Empress collided with Dymond's ship, the Hecate, creating unstable matter interfaces. The Mandrels escaped the CET, killing passengers, while Tryst and Dymond surreptitiously hooked the Empress crew on Vraxoin to give them a chance to escape.
