tracer
A wand-like device given to Romana by the White Guardian, in the guise of the Time Lord President, to aid in the quest for the Key to Time. The Tracer slotted into a port on the TARDIS console and fed the coordinates of whichever planet the next segment was located directly into the TARDIS' navigational systems. Once there, the Tracer tracked the segment locally and then touched it, transforming it back into the actual segment. The Doctor snapped the Tracer in half to destroy it and thus scatter the six segments once more after the White Guardian had restored the balance of the Universe.
