telepathic circuits
These can be used to boost telepathic messages across space and time, such as when the Doctor had to contact the Time Lords and ask them to fly the TARDIS to Spiridon. Alternately, if the Doctor is caught in the space time vortex, he can use the TARDIS telepathic circuits to contact the ship and have it draw him back inside to safety. This implies that not only does the Time Lord pilot his ship, but that the two of them also share some kind of empathic relationship. The telepathic circuits may also be attuned to the Cloister Bell, causing it to ring when it senses danger.
