green death
Colloquial name given to the chemical waste sludge deposited by Global Chemicals at the bottom of a disused mine in Llanfairfach. On contact with human skin, the victim began to glow green, dying painfully a while later. The sludge also produced mutated maggots, grown to giant proportions which could hatch into huge flying insects. The Giant Maggots and the green death were combatable via a fungus discovered by a local scientist and ecologist, Professor Jones. The mine was later sealed to stop any more of the green slime coming into contact with the local people.
