Three evil immortal entities who thrived on amusement. They existed in an alternate dimension, the Dark Circus, but were linked to the Psychic Circus, a popular travelling show. There, the acts that amused them survived, those that displeased them, did not. The Doctor broke through into their dimension, where they sat in a version of a circus big top carved from stone. He entertained them until Ace supplied a talisman which boosted mental powers. He used this against the Gods, whose world was then destroyed, freeing the real Psychic Circus and enabling the surviving performers to start again, without alien interference.
