A giant amorphous blob who, as the Tythonian Ambassador, had travelled to the metal-starved planet Chloris to trade his metals for their abundant plant life. Realising that his presence threatened her rule, Lady Adastra had the creature thrown into a huge pit where it killed anyone it tried to communicate with. The Doctor returned its communication device and exposed Adastra, but a Tythonian warhead - a directed neutron star - had been sent to destroy Chloris when his people assumed he had been murdered. The Tythonian ambassador wove a web around the neutron star, saving Chloris and then resumed negotiations with Chloris' new ruler.
