eldrad
A silicon-based life form from Kastria, Eldrad was branded a criminal after he destroyed the barriers, which he originally created, to deflect the harsh Kastrian atmosphere. He did this because the Kastrians would not submit to his rule. He was sentenced to obliteration but his hand survived and crashed on Earth where it was discovered by Sarah Jane Smith. Eldrad's will enslaved her mind and she took the hand to a nuclear power station where the atomic energy from a reactor regenerated Eldrad's body. Eldrad then commandeered the TARDIS and returned to a lifeless Kastria. Eldrad became enraged and when he attacked the Doctor he fell into a seemingly bottomless ravine.
