cloister bell
One of the emergency or early warning alarm systems aboard the TARDIS. It rang whenever the Ship itself sensed that either itself, or its occupants, were in danger. Located near the Cloisters area of the TARDIS interior, the Cloister Bell warned of the approaching danger of the Master's dimensional trap after the Doctor accidentally materialised his TARDIS around his foe's. It foreshadowed the existence of the Watcher and it was also heard when the Master sent the TARDIS spiralling back in time towards Event One. The bell also tolled when the TARDIS became ensnared in the time corridor which the fleeing Dalek replicants used to reach Earth.
